Discord | The Joy of Opinionated Systems

“Infinitely configurable” is just another way to say “so many ways to shoot yourself in the foot you’ll never get bored!” In this talk we briefly explore the pitfalls of common Open Source system design and see what happens when you take the less-travelled path like ScyllaDB has. Discord has saved time and been able to move quickly without incident by deploying ScyllaDB and trusting in the well-formed opinions of others.
