ScyllaDB Introduces ScyllaDB Manager for Greater Centralized Control of ScyllaDB Database Clusters

New Addition to ScyllaDB Enterprise Suite Automates Recurring Tasks and Repairs

PALO ALTO, Calif. — March 21, 2018 — ScyllaDB, the next generation of NoSQL, today announced ScyllaDB Manager, a new addition to ScyllaDB Enterprise that improves the manageability and reduces the administration of ScyllaDB deployments. ScyllaDB Manager centralizes cluster administration and automates recurrent tasks, such as periodic repair to ScyllaDB Enterprise clusters, bringing greater predictability and control to ScyllaDB-based environments.

ScyllaDB is a drop-in Apache Cassandra replacement that is powered by C++. Utilizing the best from Apache Cassandra in high availability, fault tolerance and a rich ecosystem, ScyllaDB offers developers a higher performing and more resource-effective NoSQL database to power their demanding applications.

“We continue to find new ways to reduce system complexity and automate database tasks so developers can focus instead on business logic,” said Dor Laor, CEO of ScyllaDB. “Our release of ScyllaDB Manager is another step towards the autonomous database. By automating replica synchronization and healing, it saves users from the burden of scheduling repair.”

Administrators can use ScyllaDB Manager’s sctool command-line interface to initiate and schedule management operations and to monitor the progress of the repair task at each point. In its initial release, ScyllaDB Manager automatically learns the cluster topology and keyspaces, and creates a default, once-per-week, full cluster repair. Upcoming releases of ScyllaDB Manager will provide rolling upgrades, recurrent backup, and will manage the full, lifetime orchestration of multiple clusters.

ScyllaDB Manager is available today for all ScyllaDB Enterprise customers. For a 30-day evaluation, go to http://www.scylladb.com/enterprise-download/register/. For more information about ScyllaDB, please visit ScyllaDB.com.
