Senior Kubernetes Engineer

About The Position

The Scylla Operator team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us. In this role you’ll help us advance the operator for ScyllaDB, a next-generation distributed NoSQL database. You’ll have a key role in designing the architecture and implementing our new SaaS offering. You’ll also become a frequent contributor to our open-source operator for ScyllaDB. ScyllaDB’s engineering team is spread over 16 countries with development centers in Israel (Herzeliya) and Poland (Warsaw).

As part of this role you will:

  • Design and develop new features for Scylla Operator and our new SaaS offering around it
  • Work with the Open Source community
  • Participate in analysis, triage, and customer support
  • Transform your analytic experience into algorithms
  • Contribute to team’s continuous integration and release lifecycle


  • Experience writing Kubernetes controllers/operators
  • Several years of experience with Golang
  • Good understanding of Linux
  • Experience with microservices architectures and concepts including APIs, versioning, monitoring, etc.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience


  • Contributions to the Kubernetes project
  • Experience with developing cloud-native applications at scale
  • Experience with distributed NoSQL databases (Scylla, Cassandra, DataStax Enterprise, Amazon DynamoDB, Cosmos DB, Google Cloud Bigtable, MongoDB, Couchbase, Aerospike, etc.)
  • Prior experience in Database Administration (DBA) or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
  • Experience in Open Source development
  • Experience with performance monitoring (Grafana/Prometheus)
